     David Kragness joined the South Dakota State staff in 2009 as an assistant athletic trainer, working primarily with the Jackrabbit women’s basketball team. Prior to joining the Jackrabbits, Kragness spent a year as an assistant athletic trainer at Winona State University in Winona, Minn., where he worked with the Warriors’ men's basketball and track and field teams.
     A 2005 graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato, Kragness worked as the head athletic trainer for the Minnesota Swarm professional indoor lacrosse team for a year after earning a bachelor of science degree in athletic training. Following his time at MSU, the Barron, Wis., native earned a master of science degree in kinesiology from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, where he also served at the athletic trainer for the women’s volleyball team.
     In addition to his degrees, Kragness holds certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a performance enhancement specialist and a corrective exercise specialist.
