Erin Kasmarik
Position: Graduate Assistant
Hometown: Coon Rapids, Minn.
Erin Kasmarik joins the South Dakota State University coaching staff as a graduate assistant.

"Kaz is one of the most sophisticated players I ever coached. She is a soccer junkie and has a great mind for the game,” said head coach Lang Wedemeyer.

During her senior season in 2008, Kasmarik was a part of the Jacks first Division I postseason run to the NCAA College Cup where they upset Colorado in the first round. She led the Jacks in points throughout the season with 24, including a team-high 10 goals.

A native of Coon Rapids, Minn., Kasmarik was  a first-team all Summit League selection in 2008.  She led the league with six game-winning goals, tied for the league lead in goals and ranked second in points. 

Her career at SDSU tallied 39 points on 15 goals and 9 assists in 75 games played for the Jackrabbits. She owns spots on 11 career top-10 lists including second for games played (75), sixth place for career points (39), ninth in career assists (9), ninth in goals scored (15). She also sits on seven season top-10 lists including sixth in scoring (24) and fifth in goals (10).  

Also excelling in the classroom, Kasmarik was named to the ESPN The Magazine Women’s Soccer Academic All-America Second Team and the Summit League Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence. She was also honored with the Academic All-Summit League award and as an NSCAA Academic Scholar Athlete. 

A sport science graduate student at SDSU, Kasmarik is scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2012.
