Kayla Braffet captures her first career Summit League Offensive Player of the Week after leading the South Dakota State women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Iowa State last week.
The junior from Carlock, Ill., collected a corner kick from Christa Nyblom in the 56th minute of the game to score the game-winner.
"It's great to see Kayla recognized for her game-winning goal against Iowa State. She has been dangerous in a lot of the games and we are looking for her to get on a roll in conference play," said head coach Lang Wedemeyer.
Braffet is second on the team in points with seven off one assist and three goals this season, including two game-winners. She is tied with teammate Danni Healy for the most goals scored so far this season, as well as most game-winners scored. Braffet sits in a tie for third place on the all-time career assists list with 11 assists. She has 12 goals on her career, including four game-winners.
The Jacks open up conference play Friday against IPFW at 7 p.m. ET in Fort Wayne, Ind., and travel to Rochester, Mich., to battle Oakland at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
