COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA volleyball invited South Dakota State sophomore standout Kelli Fiegen to train with the A2 team from May 23-27, 2011, and then compete with the team at the USA Volleyball Open National Championships in Dallas, Texas, from May 28-31.

"This is a great opportunity for Kelli to hone her skills, and to represent SDSU as well as the State of South Dakota on a national level," head coach Phil McDaniel said. "She's a gifted athlete, who works hard to improve her skills every day in the gym and weight room. We're all proud of her accomplishments, and she has the total support of her coaches and teammates!"

The defending Summit League Player of the Year, Fiegen along with teammates Ellyce Youngren and Shay Birath traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo., with nearly 200 other hopefuls in February, to tryout for one of the 36 spots on three teams.
