South Dakota State senior Greg Vollmer has been named The Summit League's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for his performance this weekend at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
Vollmer finished the 8k in 65th place with a time of 25 minutes and 14 seconds.
Vollmer has been the top finisher for the SDSU men's cross country team in all three meets this fall.
Vollmer's time at the Griak was his best 8k time this fall and is the 11th-best time in The Summit League.

Next up for both the men's and women's cross country teams is a return home to host the SDSU Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1. The men's race is set to begin at 9:20 p.m., with the women's race starting at 10 a.m.
The cross country meet kicks off a full day of SDSU athletics on Saturday.
