MANHATTAN, Kan. - The South Dakota State women's golf team shot a 954 team total (322-316-316) and finished tied for ninth place at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational on Tuesday.
The University of Arkansas-Little Rock won the 12-team tournament with a score of 891 (292-298-301).
Katie Purcell led the Jacks with a score of 234 (81-77-76) and finished tied for 27th place. Amber Houser shot a 236 (77-78-81) and finished tied for 35th. Alli Plath finished tied for 48th after carding a 242 (82-80-80). Morgan Fitts tallied a 245 (83-81-81) and finished tied for 55th. Brittany Hanten registered a 248 and finished in 59th place.
Malin Lundberg of Arkansas-Little Rock took medalist honors with a score of 217 (70-70-77).
The Jackrabbit women play next at the LPGA Xavier Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla. on October 7.
