Schultz named MGA Junior Player of the Year
EDINA, Minn. - South Dakota State freshman Dillon Schultz was named the Minnesota Golf Association Junior Player of the year on Friday.
Schultz finished tied for third place at the Class A Minnesota State High School Tournament and tied for fifth at the Minnesota PGA Junior championship. However, the highlight of Schultz’s season was a final-round 66 to tie for second at the MGA Amateur Championship, July 20 at White Bear Yacht Club.
Since 1975, the MGA has awarded player points for top finishes in MGA and allied association championships, as well as select regional, national and international events.
Shultz has compiled a scoring average of 78.30 in 10 rounds so far this season for the Jackrabbits.
