MINNEAPOLIS — Junior Kyle Ochsner recorded a pair of top-10 finishes to pace the South Dakota State University men's swimming and diving team Saturday on the final day of competition at the Minnesota Challenge.
A native of Jordan, Minn., Ochsner notched a sixth-place time of 52.31 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly and placed 10th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:56.75.
Three other Jackrabbits turned in ninth-place finishes in the swimming events. Chris Scheier was ninth in the 200 freestyle in 1:44.06, Phil Albu recorded a time of 51.92 seconds in the 100 backstroke and Shea Patrick finished ninth in the 200 breaststroke, 2:08.89.
Freshman Alex McLain posted a 10th-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle in 16:56.00, while teammate Kyle Catani was 11th in 17:03.16.
In the diving events, Connor Florand placed seventh in the 3-meter competition with a score of 255.40, while Brad Schoreit was eighth with 252.35 points.
The Jackrabbits will be in training until the Summit League Championships Feb. 15-18 in Rochester, Mich.
