Men increase second place lead
The South Dakota State University men’s swimming and diving team broke four school records to build onto their second place lead after day three of the Summit League Championships Friday night.
Oakland leads with 700 points. The Jackrabbits are in second place with 449.5 points. USD and IUPUI are third and fourth with 281 and 278.5 points.
Sophomore Connor Florand led the way for the men placing second in 1-meter diving with a score of 280.40. Brad Schoreit finished fourth with a score of 258.15 and Clark Kcourek fifth with a score of 249.20.
Sophomore Chris Schreier placed third in the 400-yard individual medley with a school-record of 3:59.30.
Phil Albu placed third in the 100-yard backstroke in a school-record time of 49.78 seconds.
Junior Kyle Ochsner finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle in a school-record time of 1:40.88. Hogue and Blaker Yeager rounded out the top eight with times of 1:41.88 and 1:43.54.
The Championships will conclude Saturday night.
