The South Dakota State women's tennis team dropped its final two meets at the conference cluster in Fort Wayne...
The Jacks were shutout in both meets 4-0, first by Oral Roberts in the morning and again by IPFW in the afternoon.
In the morning match, SDSU was close in all doubles matches early, but the Golden Eagles pulled away to take all three and the doubles point.
In singles, the top four took the court, while No. 5 and No. 6 waited to see if the matches were needed to determine the outcome. It turned out that the match was decided after ORU took the top three.
Megan McDougall split sets after a first-set victory at No. 4, but the match was unfinished when the Golden Eagles earned the decision.
No. 5 and No. 6 did not take the court.
In the afternoon, IPFW cruised to the doubles point by taking the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches.
In singles, the Mastodons continued to play well, posting convincing wins at No. 3, 5 and 6. The three victories ended the meet.
McDougall played another solid match, taking the first set before the match was called off in the second set. Bryna Nasenbeny and Jenny Blackburne were narrowly defeated in first sets at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, before both matches also went unfinished.
