Baseball stadium nears completion
Workers are nearing completion of the construction of a stadium seating project at Erv Huether Field.
Installation of a combination of chairback and bleacher seating to accommodate approximately 600 spectators began last week, while a new press box was placed at the top of the grandstand on Tuesday. Electrical and other finishing work is scheduled to be completed in time for the Jackrabbit baseball team's home opener April 10 against Mount Marty.
SDSU also will host Minnesota on April 11 to complete the homestand.
Former player and 2011 Jackrabbit Sports Hall of Fame inductee Dave Lane provided the lead gift for the project last fall.
