The South Dakota State wrestling team and head coach Chris Bono received national letters of intent from two top recruits...

Trey Hable and Ben Gillette joined the Jackrabbit wrestling team on Monday.

Hable, an Albert Lea, Minn., native, was the 2012 Minnesota Class AAA runner-up at 170 pounds while wrestling for Albert Lea Area High School. Hable also placed third at the 2011 Minnesota Christmas Tournament.

"We are excited to get a high-caliber wrestler of Trey's ability," said Bono. "We are looking forward to him having a great future as a Jackrabbit."

Gillette, a native of Redfield, S.D., was 2012 South Dakota Class B Wrestler of the Year. Gillette is a two-time South Dakota State B champion from Redfield High School (126 pounds in 2012 and 112 pounds in 2010), as well as 2011 runner-up (125 pounds).

"It is great to get a top South Dakota kid to stay home," said Bono. "I think he is excited to wrestle in front of his home fans."

The two signings come on the heels of Bono being named head wrestling coach.
