2012 Scholarship Auction a huge success
More than 500 fans, friends and supporters of South Dakota State attended the 2012 Jackrabbit Athletic Scholarship Auction last Saturday in Frost Arena, and thanks to their participation, the event raised $370,000 that directly impacts SDSU student-athletes.
"Once again, I can't say enough about the support we receive for this event," director of athletics Justin Sell said. "Our loyal supporters generated enough funds equivalent to 27 full, in-state scholarships. It speaks volumes for the generosity of those in attendance, sponsors and a gracious donor that matched every dollar raised."
More than 200 student-athletes volunteered to help out with the event, which added to overall atmosphere of the night.
A special thanks to Orthopedic Institute, First Premier Bank, Beal Distributing, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines and Aramark for making this event possible. SDSU Athletics would also like to thank the scholarship auction committee for their time and efforts.
