The National Association of Basketball Coaches' selected both Tony Fiegen and Brayden Carlson to its "Honors Court," which recognizes student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2011-12 season.
A junior from Madison, S.D., Fiegen majors in biology and averaged seven points and 3.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 49 percent from the field.
Carlson, a Brookings native, averaged 7.3 points per game and shot 48 percent from the field while majoring in business economics.
All eligible selections for the Honors Court must be a member of the varsity squad, be a junior or senior academically and carry at least a cumulative 3.2 GPA.
