Jackrabbits take second at NDSU Dual

Fargo, N.D. – The South Dakota State Women’s Cross Country began their season today, Friday (Aug. 31), at the NDSU Open with a second place finish.

Tera Potts was the lone Jackrabbit to finish in the top five. Potts finished fifth with a time of 18:45.15.

SDSU did claim the 9th, 10th, and 11th spots as Erin Hargens, Laura Wolles, and Courtney Neubert went back-to-back-back.

Hargens finished with a time of 19:12.88, Wolles completed the course in 19:14.65, and Neubert was right behind the two in 19:24.47.

Andrea Weeder, and Erin Nolz finished back-to-back as they claimed the 13th and 14th spots respectively. Weeder completed the course in 19:35.52, and Nolz finished in 19:38.12.

Tia Carlson was just under 20 minutes, with a time of 19:59.66, which was good enough for 16th.

Leah Bolon, and Katie Boote rounded out the Jackrabbits on the day as they finished 18th and 19th respectively. Bolon finished in 20:16.63, and Boote completed the course in 20:24.60.

With their times today, Potts and Wolles both set personal records in a 5k race.

As a team the Jackrabbits finished with 48 points, which was 22 points ahead of third place North Dakota.

Up next for the Jackrabbits, will be the OZ Memorial, in Falcon Heights, MInn. this Friday (Sept. 7) at 4 p.m.
