Eric Hodgson is in his second year as South Dakota State’s graduate assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s golf programs. As the development coach, Hodgson works with Baszler on the teams practice routines, workouts—as their yoga instructor, on player development, team travel and budget. He also is the Jacks’ primary coach when both teams are at separate tournaments. The Marietta, Ga., native brings with him four years of collegiate golf experience and a broad range of knowledge when it comes college golf, swing mechanics and academics. After spending his first two years at Young Harris College where he posted a 73.3 scoring average, Hodgson transferred to the University of the Cumberlands where he consistently held a top-five roster spot and helped Cumberlands continue its streak of nine-straight conference titles while holding down a top-five ranking in the NAIA. His work in the classroom earned him two academic all-American honors and he was also a two-time academic all-conference selection. Hodgson graduated from University of the Cumberlands in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and minor in political science.
