Jackrabbits 15th in Twin Cities

Falcon Heights, Minn. - The South Dakota State University women's cross country finished 15th out of 17 teams against a strong field at the Roy Griak Invitational Saturday afternoon.

The Jackrabbits were led individually by senior Tera Potts, who completed the 6,000-meter course at Les Bolstad Golf Course in 23 minutes and 3 seconds to finish 71st overall. Junior Laura Wolles finished 83rd overall in 23:16, with Cheyanne Bowers placing 100th in the 211-runner field with a time of 23:34.

Also competing for the Jackrabbits were Courtney Neubert, 126th in 24:03, Laura Lawton, 132nd in 24:20, Andrea Weeder, 137th in 24:23 and Jenna Grossenburg, 155th in 24:47.

Led by 1-2 finish of Betsy Saina (20:51) and Meaghan Nelson (21:00), Iowa State won the meet with 47 points. Weber State (Utah) was second with 82 points, followed by host Minnesota in third with 86.

The Jackrabbits return to action Oct. 13 at the Chile Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
