NEW ORLEANS – After winning the 2012 Summit League Championship last week, the South Dakota State Men’s Cross Country team is now ranked 11th in the Midwest region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Jackrabbits began their 2012 season being ranked 15th in the USTFCCCA Preseason Poll. They have been sitting at number 12 for the past few weeks, but have now moved up.
Last weekend the Jackrabbits claimed their third conference title in four years.
Michael Krsnak won the event for the first time ever with at time of 25.06.4.
South Dakota is the only other Summit League team to be ranked. USD is currently 15th.
SDSU will be traveling to Collegeville, Minn. this Friday to compete in the Fall Finale hosted by St. Johns and St. Benedicts. The race is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
