BROOKINGS, S.D. -- The South Dakota State women's swimming and diving fell to Nebraska 177-106 at the HPER Center Pool on Friday afternoon.
Devonne Dalin won the only event for SDSU in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.58 seconds. Dalin finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.65 seconds. Dalin was part of the runner-up 200-yard medley relay which finished in 1:52.11 and the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:37.63.
Freshman Kayce Smith finished runner-up in three individual events. Smith had season-bests in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.00 and in the 200-yard IM with at time 0f 2:16.09. Smith finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:29.66.
Andrea Budahl finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:16.20. Budahl finished third in the 200-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 2:11.03.
Olivia Olesiak finished second in the one-meter diving with a season-best score of 244.80.
Emma Gaulke-Janowski finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:47.01.
Nicole Grimit finished second in the 100-yard freestyle in 54.65 seconds.
Lisa Newberger finished second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:18.05.
Trina Young finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.74 seconds.
The women will take on the University of South Dakota next at home on Nov. 16.
