Jacks split squads: head to USD and ISU
After finally competing in their first meet of 2013 last week, the Jackrabbits will be splitting up the teams and heading into different directions. SDSU will be taking part in the USD Alumni Meet and the Bill Bergan Invite.

Dakota hosts the USD Alumni Meet; the Bill Bergan Invite is hosted by Iowa
About the USD Alumni Meet:
Teams that will attending the meet are: Augustana, Nebraska-Omaha (women), North Dakota State (women), Sioux Falls, South Dakota and South Dakota State.
The events will start are scheduled to start at 10:45 a.m.
About the Bill Bergan Invite:
Teams that will be attending the meet are: Iowa, Kansas State, Marquette, Minnesota (Men), North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Wisconsin and UT-Arlington.
The Jackrabbits will be mainly competing in the running events at the Bill Bergan Invite. The running events
will start at noon on Saturday.
Early season highlights:
LeAndre Kennedy set the third best-time in SDSU history in the 60-meter dash with a time
of 7.02 seconds.
Megan Bren also set a top time in SDSU history in the 60-meter dash (MSU Preseason
Open). Bren had a time of 7.80 seconds, which is tied for fourth with Ashley Odegaard.
Brooke Garner won the weight throw with
a mark of 58’ 11.75” (Jack Johnson Invite).
SDSU took the top three spots in the 60-meter dash with Gina Fritz, Bren and Odegaard all
going one-two-three (MSU
Bren and Fritz went one and two in the 200-meter dash (MSU Preseason Open).
Around the Summit League:
Kennedy has the fourth-fastest 60-meter dash time (7.02).
Bren’s time of 7.80 in the 60-meter dash ranks fourth.
holds the third-best 200-meter dash time (25:05).
Phillip LaVallee has the fifth-best time in the 800-meter with a time of 1:55.35.
Michael Krsnak’s time of 4:10.65 in the mile ranks second.
Tera Potts has the fastest time in the mile with a time of 4:57.84.
Trent Lusignan is second in the 3000-meter with a time of 8:24.13.
Erin Hargens ranks fifth in the 3000-meter (10:16.75).
The SDSU women have the fourth-best 4x400-meter relay time of 3:55.29.
Garner has the fourth-best mark in the shot put with a distance of 44’ 8.75”, she also has the second-best weight throw with a mark of 58’ 11.25”.
The Jackrabbits will be heading to Lincoln, Neb. on Feb. 1 & 2, to take part in the Husker Invite hosted by Nebraska.
