The South Dakota State men's tennis team was bested by Bradley 7-0 on Sunday in Milwaukee.
Bradley swept doubles for the team point, winning 8-3, 8-1 and 8-3 at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Singles was far more competitive, but the Braves were winners at every position. Henrique Pereira won the first set 6-4 at No. 4, but lost the second in a tiebreaker and the third-set super tiebreaker.
Mateus Moreira also played a second-set tiebreaker and pushed it beyond the 12-point barrier, but was on the short end of the 8-6 score.
"Bradley was one of the deeper teams we have played thus far," head coach Michael Engdahl said. "It was another match where we were in every game, but struggled with the big points. We see improvements, but we need to start believing in ourselves."
SDSU returns to action this weekend in Colorado. The Jacks visit Metro State at 7 p.m. on Saturday in Denver, Northern Colorado at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Greeley and Nebraska Wesleyan at 1:30 p.m. on Monday in Lincoln, Neb.
"The first five matches this season were against tough teams and we knew what we were up against," said Engdahl. "We have to regroup a bit this week and realize we belong on the court with any team we play."
