The South Dakota State head men’s basketball Scott Nagy, along with a group of men’s basketball coaches and student-athletes, left Brookings on May 8 for a weeklong trip to Haiti, to distrubute shoes and food, and to put on a basketball clinic in conjunction with Samaritan’s Feet.

The group, which also includes SDSU Athletic staff members and members of the community, arrived in Haiti on the eventing of May 8 and got right to work on Thursday with a food distribution, with shoe distributions, a visit to an orphanage and a free basketball clinic all planned for later in the week.

Several members of the team agreed to blog about their experience and share it with Jackrabbit fans on GoJacks.com.

Coach Nagy got things started on May 7, with the first entry about preparing the group for their visit to Haiti. You can also click on the photo gallery link below and scroll down for some short videos of the team in Haiti.
