Erin Stanley joined the Jackrabbit softball staff as an assistant coach in 2014 after working in the private sector following a standout career at the University of Northern Iowa from 2001-05.
A four-year starter for the Panthers, Stanley started every game at third base over her final three seasons, earning second team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors in both 2003 and 2005, with honorable mention All-MVC honors in 2004. She also made the MVC Scholar Athlete Team in 2003 and 2005, along with ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District and team MVP honors in 2005.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native led the Panthers in hitting in 2003-05, and posted a .366 batting average in her senior season before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She later went on to earn a Master of Arts degree Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
Prior to her days at UNI, Stanley starred at Linn-Mar High school, where she earned five varsity letters in softball as a shortstop and pitcher. In those five years, she earned a trio of first team all-conference nods at shortstop, four all-metro selections, first team all-state, all-state elite team captain and numerous other honors. She also earned two varsity letters in basketball, and gained induction into the Linn-Marr High School Hall of Fame in 2014.
Stanley and her husband, Owen, live in Brookings.
