The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at South Dakota State takes an active role in the campus and Brookings community by enhancing the total student-athlete experience through protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image.

Throughout the year, SAAC organizes many community service events, including: hosting an annual Halloween penny carnival, conducting food and clothing drives, tutoring students at local schools and participating in a campus-wide cleanup. SAAC also conducts a penny war, with all of the proceeds benefiting the Brookings Boys and Girls Club.
