ELMHURST, Ill. – Eight members of the Jackrabbit soccer team, including head coach Lang Wedemeyer were honored by The Summit League on Thursday with postseason awards.

Caylee Costello and Dani Patterson represented the Jackrabbits on the All-League First Team for their performances throughout the regular season. Costello, a senior midfielder, tallied three goals on the season, including two game-winners. Patterson, a sophomore, was one of four defenders to be named to the first team. She was named The Summit League’s Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 14 for her performance against South Dakota and Omaha. Last year, Patterson made All-Summit League Second Team.

Captain Darci Miller and Freshman Nicole Inskeep made the All-League Second Team. Miller tallied two goals and one assist during the regular season as the Jackrabbits finished 11-4-2 overall. Inskeep has been solid in net all year long for SDSU as she and the Jackrabbit defense posted 11 shutouts during the year. Inskeep ranks 37th in the NCAA in save pct. (.840) and 30th in goals against average (.680). Inskeep and the Jackrabbit defense also rank 13th in the NCAA in shutout percentage (.647).

The Jackrabbits were well represented on the All-Freshmen Team. Ashley Adams, Inskeep, Shelby Raper and McKenzie Wolf claimed four of the 11 spots on the team. SDSU was the only team to have more than two athletes represented on the All-Freshmen Team. Adams, Inskeep, Raper and Wolf played in all 17 games in the regular season. Inskeep tallied two Summit League Defensive Player of the Week awards and last week Wolf took the home the honor as well.

Adams started the last 16 games of the season and posted an assist in a 1-0 win over Omaha on Oct. 13. Raper scored two goals in the regular season, while starting in 10 games.

The Summit League named head coach Lang Wedemeyer Coach of the Year along with Jeff Hooker of Denver.
