The Jackrabbits fell 30-13 in the inaugural Battle of the Border Bell with rival North Dakota State Saturday evening.

After the Bison opened up an early 15-0 advantage, redshirt freshman Alex Kocer (149 pounds) got SDSU on the board with a 6-5 win over Tyler Diamond. Kocer trailed 5-4 late in the third, but recorded a reversal at 6:50 to get the win.

Junior Cody Pack built off of Kocer's win with a major decision of his own. Pack established his offense early, recording three takedowns in the first two periods. Pack continued to be on the offensive in the third, as he recorded three more takedowns. With riding time, Pack recorded the 13-4 major decision.

With the dual no longer in doubt, redshirt freshman Trey Hable still came out firing in the 197-bout. Hable pinned NDSU's Colton Castelbury in 0:42 to close out the scoring for SDSU.

The Jacks will return to the mat on Dec. 8 as they travel to Sioux Falls to take on in-state foe, Augustana in the Sanford Pentagon. This will be the first matchup between the two schools since 2003-04.

A complete play-by-play of today's dual can be found at the top of this release.
