MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – After a couple-week layoff, South Dakota State return to the pool at the Jean Freeman Invite hosted by the University of Minnesota.
Emily Campbell and Kayce Smith went one-two in the 100 breaststroke with times of 1:04.66 and 1:05.29, respectively. Campbell also took third in the 200 IM, while Smith took fourth.
In the 200 butterfly, Emmalee Wright and Trina Young finished third and fourth with times of 2:08.92 and 2:09.12, respectively.
Devonne Dalin took fifth in the 50 free with a time of 24.49, while Andee Budahl took fifth in the 500 free with a time of 5:05.79.
On the men’s side, Wil Hogue finished runner-up in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.75, while Chris Angerhofer took second in the 500 free, with a time of 4:37.55.
In the 200 breaststroke, Matthew Carpenter took third, Daniel Jacobson took fourth and Connor McGinnis took fifth, while John Overman took third in the 100 breaststroke
In the 200 freestyle relay, the Jackrabbit squad of Phil Albu, Jacobson, Jack Morrow and Hogue too fifth with a time of 1:26.11. The Jacks also took third in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:03.82. That squad consisted of Ben Bolinske, Geoffrey Longhurst, Garth Wadsworth and Blake Yeager.
