A November to remember for Lusignan
ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State’s Trent Lusignan was named The Summit League’s Male Athlete of the Month for November, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon. Lusignan finished in the top-15 in all three meets he competed in during the month of November.
He began the month with a first place finish at The Summit League Cross Country Championships (Nov. 2) with his final time of 24:49.2. Less than two weeks later (Nov. 15), he became the first Jackrabbit in the D-I era to qualify for the NCAA D-I Cross Country Championships with his second place finish (30:30.3) at the NCAA Midwest Regional.
At the NCAA D-I Cross Country Championships (Nov. 23), Lusignan ran a time of 30:18.8 to place 12th overall. His 12th place finish at the NCAA D-I Cross Country Championships, earned him All-American honors.
Along with All-American honors, he was named Summit League Cross Country Championships MVP, First Team All-Summit, All-Region, Summit League Male Cross Country Athlete of the Year and he was a three-time winner of The Summit League’s Athlete of the Week award.
This is the first career award for him; Joel Reichow was named Athlete of the Month for Aug./Sept.
