ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- The Jackrabbit men's and women's swimming and diving squads both suffered defeats at the hands of St. Cloud State Saturday. The SDSU men fell, 157-143, while the women dropped a 151-149 decision.
Andee Budahl and Emma Gaulke-Janowski went one-two in the 1000 freestyle with times of 10:43.44 and 10:15.12, respectively. Budahl also won the 500 free with a time of 5:16.07.
Julia Bodnaruk took the 200 free in 1:57.15, while Devonne Dalin won the 50 free with a time of 25.32. Dalin also won the 100 free in 54.71.
In the 200 breaststroke, Emily Campbell placed first in a time of 2:23.01.
The 400 freestyle relay squad of Dalin, Selina Gilbertson, Nicole Grimit and Kaylin Caron were victorious with a mark of 3:36.86.
On the boards, Alecia Winston's mark of 235.05 won the 1-meter, while Olivia Olesiak placed second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 240.90.
On the men's side, Blake Yeager and Ben Bolinske finished first and second in the 200 free with times of 1:45.97 and 1:46.89.
In the 100 backstroke, Phil Albu finished first with a mark of 52.70, while also winning the 200 backstroke in 1:55.56. Garth Wadsworth won the 200 butterfly in 1:57.20.
SDSU swept the boards, as Connor Florand and Clark Kocourek claimed the top-two spots in both events. In the 1-meter, Florand recorded a score of 312.35, while Kocourek tallied a 309.15 mark. In the 3-meter, Florand scored 335.90, while Kocourek recorded a dive of 321.95.
SDSU returns to the pool Feb. 1 as it hosts North Dakota.
