Schaefer tops pole vault mark

FARGO, N.D. – Nathaniel Schaefer cleared a personal-best height of 15 feet, 5 inches in the pole vault event as he finished fourth overall at the Bison Open. Scheafer topped his old mark of 15-1, which he set last year at the Jack Johnson Classic.

LeAndre Kennedy and Bo Arnold both ran season-best times in the 60-meter dash. Kennedy tied his season-best time of 7.03 seconds to place fourth and Arnold took eighth with his personal-best time of 7.14.

Marc Husman ran a personal-best time of 22.82 in the 200-meter dash and he also ran a time of 50.26 in the 400-meter dash. He placed seventh in the 200-meter dash and third in the 400-meter dash.

Also in the 200-meter dash, Jesse Dunn took tenth-place with his time of 22.94.

Ryan Swenson and Dylan Slaba posted back-to-back finishes in the 800-meter run. Swenson and Slaba ran times of 1:58.49 and 1:58.61 to place ninth and tenth, respectively.

Brendan Sage posted two top-10 finishes at the Bison Open. Sage placed sixth in the 1,000-meter run (2:39.39) and he took fifth in the one-mile run (4:20.99).

Also in the one-mile run, Daniel Pettit ran a final time of 4:19.48 to place fourth.

In the 3,000-meter run, Austin Hamm led the Jackrabbits with his 12th-place finish. He crossed the finish line with an overall time of 9:18.22.

The Jackrabbits had two runners place in the top-five in the 5,000-meter run. Joel Reichow won the event with his final time of 14:42.81 and Kenny Mayer placed fourth with his time of 15:15.37.

Traxton Priebe ran a time of 8.95 in the 60-meter hurdles.

In the triple jump event, the Jackrabbits had two jumpers place in the top-10. Jake Sanderson jumped a personal-best mark of 46-2 to place second and Jeremiah Ary recorded a distance of 44-7 to finish in sixth-place.

Sanderson also recorded a height of 6-1 ½ in the high jump, while Ary won the long jump event with his distance of 22-10.

Kyle Anderson placed fourth in the shot put event with his personal-best distance of 49-7. Anderson also recorded a personal-best mark of 45-5 in the weight throw.

Cullen Mack claimed seventh-place in the weight throw with his mark of 53-1 ¾.

The Jackrabbits split squads next Friday as they compete at the South Dakota Twilight and the Nebraska Tune-Up. Friday will be the final day of competition before The Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships (Feb. 28-March 1).
