SIOUX FALLS — Three former South Dakota State football standouts went through a variety of drills in front of nine National Football League scouts Thursday during the Jackrabbits' annual Pro Day at the Sanford Fieldhouse.

Doug Peete, Bryan Witzmann and Winston Wright tested in front of nine different scouts, with all three performing well in at least one drill. A defensive end, Peete posted a time of 4.25 in the pro agility drill, while Witzmann ranked in the top 5 percent of offensive linemen with a broad jump of 9 feet, 5 inches. A defensive back, Wright capped an all-around strong day with 23 reps of 225 pounds in the bench press.

"In talking with scouts after the workouts, it sounds like all three improved their stock," assistant coach Josh Davis said.

All three athletes will continue training with hopes of earning a spot on an NFL roster either through the NFL Draft in late April or a free-agent tryout.
