Ary, Benson lead Jackrabbit men at Bryan Clay
AZUSA, Calif. – Jeremiah Ary and Austin Benson posted top-five finishes Friday as the South Dakota State men’s track and field team competed at the Bryan Clay Invite. Ary recorded a distance of 22 feet, 11 3/4 inches to take second in the long jump and in the shot put, Benson placed third with his personal-best distance of 51-11 1/4.
Marc Husman ran a personal-best time of 49.07 seconds in the 400-meter dash to take 14th.
placed 10th as he tallied a mark of 44-8 1/4.
Andrew Thies ran a personal-best time of 4:05.91 in the 1,500-meter run. He placed 95th in the race.
LeAndre Kennedy led the Jackrabbits in the 100-meter dash with his time of 11.03. He placed 19th overall in the race.
Brendan Sage posted a personal-best time of 14:45.90 en route to a ninth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run.
In the 800-meter run, Daniel Pettit posted a time of 1:59.07 to place 56th.
Traxton Priebe clocked in for a time of 16.90 in the 110-meter hurdles to finish 35th.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Justin Carson placed eighth with his time of 54.40. Also in the 400-meter hurdles, Priebe posted a personal-best time of 55.39 to place 17th.
Husman and Carson finished back-to-back in the 200-meter dash. Husman posted a time of 22.65 to take 39th and Carson ran a time of 22.68 to place 40th.
Blair Seymour posted a mark of 157-6 in the javelin throw to place 17th.
The Jackrabbits end their California trip tomorrow at the Long Beach State Invite.
