Jackrabbit men cap California trip at Long Beach
NORWALK, Calif. – The South Dakota State men’s track and field team ended their annual California trip today at the Long Beach State Invite. The Long Beach State Invite featured schools from all across the nation.
Mack also placed 19th in the discus throw as he tallied a season-best mark of 159-3.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Drew Kraft took seventh with his overall time of 9 minutes, 16.14 seconds.
Daniel Pettit posted a personal-best time of 4:00.06 in the 1,500-meter run en route to a 60th-place finish. He also posted a final time of 2:00.27 in the 800-meter run to take 105th.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Traxton Priebe placed 44th with his personal-best time of 16.24.
Marc Husman placed 51st in the 400-meter dash with his final time of 50.69. Husman also placed 58th in the 200-meter dash as he posted a time of 22.81.
LeAndre Kennedy ran a time of 11.24 to place 38th in the 100-meter dash.
Blair Seymour took 32nd in the javelin throw with his distance of 158-7.
In the shot put event, Austin Benson tallied a 31st-place finish with his mark of 45-11 3/4.
In the 400-meter hurdles, two Jackrabbits finished in the top-40. Justin Carson (25th) crossed the finish line in 54.86 and Priebe (38th) recorded a time of 56.31.
Jeremiah Ary recorded a mark of 22-0 1/4 in the long jump event en route to a 22nd-place finish. Ary also placed 17th in the triple jump with his mark of 44-4 1/4.
Jake Sanderson took 13th in the triple jump event as he tallied a mark of 45-1 1/2.
The Jackrabbits are scheduled to compete at the Drake Relays (April 25-26) and the Mount Marty Invite (April 19) next week.
