Jacks drop decision to Fort Wayne in semis
DENVER, Colo. -- South Dakota State dropped a 4-1 decision to Fort Wayne for the second time on the day - this time on the men's side. The Jacks saw their season come to an end with a 15-8 record.
"I am extremely proud of this group of guys," head coach Michael Engdahl said. "We knew we were in for a battle, on the men's side. We fought hard and can build off of this defeat."
IPFW claimed the doubles point to gain an early 1-0 advantage.
The lone Jackrabbit point came from junior Parker Lawley, who won 6-2, 6-1 in No. 2 singles.
"It's good to see the hurt in the guys," Engdahl said. A few years ago the paint wouldn't have been there. We are going to use this as a learning experience and figure out how to win in the big moments."
