Husman claims 400-meter dash title
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota State men’s track and field team posted numerous top results, including Marc Husman winning the 400-meter dash Friday at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays.
Husman went on to post an overall time of 49.62 seconds to win his first career outdoor 400-meter dash title. Also in the 400-meter dash, Adam Halverson clocked in at 50.04 to take fourth.
Three Jackrabbit jumpers placed in the top-10 of the triple jump event. Jeremiah Ary and Jake Sanderson finished back-to-back with their second- and third-place finishes, respectively. Ary tallied a season-best mark of 46 feet, 3 1/2 inches and Sanderson cleared a distance of 44-7 1/2.
Also in the triple jump, Zach Koosman placed eighth with his mark of 43-3 1/4.
Koosman also placed fifth in the high jump with his mark of 6-6. Connor Berg joined Koosman in the top-10 in the high jump as he placed seventh with a height of 6-4.
Benson also tallied a top-10 finish in the discus throw. He placed sixth with his mark of 145-8. Also in the discus throw, Cullen Mack took second with his distance of 172-2 and Ackman claimed 12th with his mark of 138-1.
Ryan Swenson set a personal-best time in the 800-meter run Friday. He placed 19th overall with his final time of 1:58.44.
Kory Kohlhof led the Jackrabbit pack in the 200-meter dash with his time of 22.36. He went on to place 15th.
Blair Seymour took third in the javelin throw with his mark of 162-11.
The Jackrabbits wrap up action at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
