Hagedorn wins 100-meter hurdles

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Marissia Hagedorn went on to win the 100-meter hurdles with her personal-best time of 14.32 seconds on the final day of the Howard Wood Dakota Relays. Her time now ranks fifth all-time in the SDSU record book.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Lori Foltz and Evelyn Klein both posted top-10 finishes. Foltz (1:05.25) and Klein (1:06.23) finished fifth and eighth, respectively.

Five Jackrabbit runners finished in the top-10 of the 1,500-meter run. Jessica Eibs was the top finisher for the Jackrabbits as she placed third with her time of 4:39.50. Lindsey Strait took fourth with her time of 4:40.02.

Laura Lawton (4:45.31) and Samantha Anderson (4:45.57) finished back-to-back to place sixth and seventh, respectively. Also in the 1,500-meter run, Brooke Peterson ran a time of 4:49.89 to take ninth.

In the discus throw, four Jackrabbit throwers placed in the top-five. The Jackrabbits claimed the second through fifth spots. Shelby Assmus (154 feet, 1 inch) took second, Silvia Zanini (152-11) placed third, Amy Paulzine (151-11) claimed fourth and Becca Fischer (149-6) rounded out the top-five.

In the final event of the day, the 4x400-meter relay, Gina Fritz, Jacleen Patterson, Foltz and Carly Carper combined for a final time of 3:53.21 to place third.

The Jackrabbits travel to Fargo, N.D., on Friday for the NDSU Tune-Up. The NDSU Tune-Up is the final meet before the conference meet in two weeks.
