Equestrian signs two riders
The two signees include:
Katherine McCabe – Hunt Seat – Granville, Ohio (Granville H.S.)
Miranda Sullivan – Western – Orleans, Ind. (Orleans H.S.)
Katherine McCabe brings experience and a strong work ethic to the Jackrabbit hunt seat squad with seven years of success as a member of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA).
McCabe competed at the IEA nationals five times in equitation on the flat as well as equitation over fences, and traveled to the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Fla., to compete at the College Preparatory Invitational, where she won equitation on the flat and finished in the top-five over fences.
In addition to her riding, McCabe also participated in various activities outside the show ring, including yearbook publications and key club.
Miranda Sullivan found success in the reining ring with a number of different organizations over the years, earning numerous honors from the American Quarter Horst Association, Indiana Quarter Horse Youth Association, National Reining Horse Association and Interscholastic Equestrian Association.
Sullivan qualified two horses for the AQHA Youth World Show from 2011-13, earning both performance register of merit and high point limited rider in reining in 2012. She also earned the 2011 and 2012 year-end reining award from the IQHYA and youth rookie, rookie level 1 and rookie level 2 champion honors from the NRHA. She also competed in two years of reining with the IEA and earned a top-10 placing at the National Youth Athletic Team Tournament in 2012.
Sullivan plans on majoring in aviation, and hopes to someday become a professional pilot.
