SDSU Wrestling tabbed Masterful Mission finalist
CHAPEL HILLl, N.C. -- South Dakota State wrestling has been named a Best of Brand Masterful Mission finalist, as announced by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, in coordination with Elite Level Sport Marketing.
"Along with pushing our #getjacked mantra, we have continued to develop @SDSUwrestling and South Dakota State Jackrabbit Wrestling into a national brand," head coach Chris Bono said. "Being named a finalist speaks volumes of my staff and their continued efforts. We really strived to take a step forward coming off of last year's Top Newcomer Award."
The five-pronged criteria for the Masterful Mission category include: building a unique brand supporting university missions, developing a strong marketing campaign, creativity and consistency in social media, actively engaging audience and using videos/technology to build brand.
Other finalists include Bucknell, Duke, Grand View, Iowa State, North Carolina State, Ouachita Baptist, Princeton, Simpson College, Ohio State, North Carolina, and Wabash.
From this group of finalists, three will be named as top programs at the NWCA Convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from August 1-3, 2014. The winner will be honored at a Best of Brand breakfast that focuses on highlighting the unique branding efforts implemented by programs.
