Krsnak leads SDSU at NDSU Dual

Fargo, N.D. – The South Dakota State Men’s Cross Country team began their season today, Friday (Aug. 31) at the NDSU Dual. The Jackrabbits as a team finished second overall, led by top finisher Michael Krsnak.

Krsnak won the race with a time of 26:09.54.

Drew Kraft claimed the second spot, when he finished in 26:31.63.

Kenny Mayer was the third Jackrabbit runner to finish in the top ten. Mayer finished sixth with a time of 26:50.29

The next finisher for SDSU was Andrew Thies, who completed the race in 27:18.90, which was 13th overall on the day.

Lars Mattison claimed the 15th spot with a time of 27:42.75.

Rounding out the Jackrabbit runners was Christain Karels, who finished in 28:11.63, which was good enough for 20th .

Kraft set a personal record at the meet, with a time of 26:31.63.

As a team, SDSU finished with 37 points, which was only six behind the winner North Dakota.

North Dakota had five finishers in the top ten.

Host North Dakota State finished third with 63 points.

Up next for the Jackrabbits, will be the OZ Memorial, in Falcon Heights, MInn. this Friday (Sept. 7) at 4 p.m.
