SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-- The South Dakota State women’s golf team opened up play at the inaugural Jackrabbit Fall Invitational with rounds of 333 and 323 and currently sit in sixth place.
Senior Morgan Fitts is the only Jackrabbit to crack the top-ten with rounds of 78 and 71 (149), which is eight strokes behind leader Amy Anderson of North Dakota State, who posted scores of 71 and 70 (141) to finish the day at one-under par.
Competing as individuals at the tournament, sophomore Myranda Dunmire and freshman Brianna Janu are tied for 30th. Dunmire carded scores of 89 and 81 (170) and Janu with rounds of 88 and 82 (170) after day one.
NDSU (619) holds an 11-stroke advantage over Creighton (630) in the team standings with Augustana (631) close behind heading into the final round.
The third and final round begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Monday.
