SDSU takes first at the Fall Finale
Collegeville, Minn. - The SDSU men’s cross country team took first at the Fall Finale, Friday, with Andrew Thies taking sixth place.
Thies finished the race with a time of 25:38.00, which was his best time on the season.
Jensen Orlow was not far behind, as he took eighth. Orlow clocked in at 25:48.00.
VanKeulen claimed 10th with a time of 26:03.00. Hamm also finished with a time of 26:03.00, but the tie went to VanKeulen.
Karels was only seven seconds behind of VanKeulen and Hamm.
Mattison finished with a time of 26:20.00.
Dylan Slaba took 16th with a time of 26:29.00.
Kipp Kinsley was only 12 seconds behind Slaba and took 18th.
SDSU had their top seven runners finish in the top 12.
SDSU ended the day with 27 points, which was three in front of second place Black Hills State.
This was the last regular season race for SDSU as they will be competing in the NCAA Midwest Regionals next week in Springfield, MO.
The start time for next week’s race will be at 1:15 p.m. The regional race will be a 10k, which is the second for the Jackrabbits.
SDSU ran their first 10k at the Chile Pepper Invite three weeks ago.
