Hargens leads Jacks at the Regional meet

Springfield, Mo. – The South Dakota State women’s cross country team finished 15th today (Friday, Nov. 9), at the NCAA Midwest Regional.

Erin Hargens led the way for the Jackrabbits with a 60th place finish in 22:05.82. Tera Potts was only ten seconds behind Hargens with a time of 22:15.25. Potts ended the day in 67th position.

In 78th was Courtney Neubert with time of 22:27.54.

Laura Wolles claimed 88th with a time of 22:37.74.

Cheyanne Bowers placed 103rd, Bowers finished with a time of 22:48.23.

Samantha Anderson and Jenna Grossenburg went back-to-back as they finished 147th and 148th. S. Anderson had a time of 23:40.53, while Grossenburg had finished with a time of 23:40.90.

Overall the Jackrabbits finished 15th with a score of 385 points.

Iowa State won the race with 63 total points.

SDSU improved from their position at the NCAA Midwest Regional from last year. In 2011 the Jackrabbits finished 16th.

The cross country season is now over for the Jackrabbits, but in less than a month will be their first track and field meet of the indoor season.
