Potts sets a new personal best

AMES, Iowa - Even though a few select athletes traveled to the Iowa State Classic, the Jackrabbits were still able to post top results. Tera Potts broke her personal best in the mile. Potts finished the mile today with a time of 4:55.02, her time ranks third in SDSU history.
Gina Fritz set a season-best time in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.09 seconds.
The women’s 4x400-meter relay team wrapped up the day with their time of 3:52.58. The team was comprised of Fritz, Ashley Odegaard, Megan Bren and Lori Foltz.
SDSU also sent a group of competitors to Fargo, N.D. as well. They competed in the Bison Open hosted by North Dakota State. Kali Olson was able to win the high jump event with her height of 5' 05.00". This is her second win in the high jump this year, both have taken place in Fargo.  
Marissia Hagedorn took sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.38, she also placed 10th in the pole-vault with a mark of 10’ 08.00”.
Jenna Grossenburg placed eighth in the mile run with a time of 5:24 and she also took 15th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.63.
Erica Meyer ran the 400-meter dash in 1:02.24, she placed 11th in the event.
Rachel Hagberg placed eighth in the 60-meter dash with her time of 8.27 seconds.
Amy Leiferman placed seventh in the pole-vault with a mark of 11’ 01.75”.
Alex Suhr took second in the 3000-meter with a time of 10:53.25.

Bobbie McLaury placed sixth in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:14.52.

In the triple jump Jenna Stephens finished seventh with a distance of 35’ 03.25”.

In the weight throw SDSU found great success as they took four of the top seven spots. Brooke Garner placed second with her mark of 58’ 05.75” and Shelby Assmus took third with a distance of 56’ 02.00”.

McKenzie Johnson placed fourth overall in the shot put competition with a mark of 45’ 02.25”. In the weight throw Johnson took seventh with her mark of 51’ 09.25”.

In the 4x400-meter relay the team of  Megan Hurlbert, Meyer, Lisa Krogstad and Kirsten Anderson combined for a time of 4:53.76.

The Jackrabbits will now head to the Nebraska Tune-Up and the South Dakota Twilight next weekend as they prepare for The Summit League Indoor Championships in two weeks.
