Jacks move up to fourth

ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The South Dakota State University women's swimming and diving team moved up a spot to fourth on day three of the Summit League Championships on Friday.

Junior Kaylin Caron was part of two more school records on Friday. Caron finished fourth in the 100 butterfly with a school record time of 56.07 seconds. Caron broke the record earlier in the day in prelims with a time of 57.14 seconds.

Caron with teammates Lisa Newberger, Kayce Smith and Devonne Dalin placed third in the 400 medley relay with a school record time of 3:50.81.

Andrea Budahl finished sixth in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:32.09. Budahl broke the school record earlier in the day in prelims with a time of 4:30.03.

A trio Jackrabbits finished in the top eight in the 200 freestyle. Nicole Grimit placed third with a personal-best time of 1:52.75. Dalin finished fifth with a personal-best time of 1:53.79 and Selina Gilbertson finished eighth.

Kayce Smith finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a personal-best time of 1:04.83.

Olivia Olesiak finished fifth in one-meter diving with 216.95 points.

The women moved up a spot fourth in the standings with 306 points and trail IUPUI by 51 points. The final day of the championships start Saturday morning with prelims.
