ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State’s Brooke Garner has been honored today with her second consecutive Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award. Garner has won the award for her performance at the Nebraska Quad last weekend.

At the Nebraska Quad Garner won the hammer throw (198' 3.00") and finished second in the discus throw (161' 1.00").

She has been on a hot streak as of late as she has won four events in the past three weeks.

Her award today marks her fourth career Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award.

Garner ranks first in the Summit League in both the hammer throw (198’ 11.00”) and in the discus throw (170’ 5.00”).

At the Division I level she ranks 32nd in the discus and 18th in the hammer.

She has won 29 events in her career as a Jackrabbit.

Garner will be back in action on Friday at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays. The Jackrabbits will also be competing in California and Iowa this weekend.
