Leischner wins in St. Peter
ST. PETER, Minn. – Luke Leischner won the 400-meter dash at the Drake Alternative and set a season best time in the process. Leischner won the event with a time of 48.15.
LeAndre Kennedy and Dominque Wright both finished in the top three in 100-meter dash. Kennedy finished second with a time of 10.93 and Wright took third with his time of 11.00.
Wright won the 200-meter dash with his time of 21.88.
In the 800-meter run, Grant VanKeulen ran a time of 2:01.50.
The Jackrabbits had three runners in the top five in the 1500-meter run. Phillip LaVallee won his first career race as a Jackrabbit. LaVallee clocked in at 4:00.64.
Joel Reichow finished in 4:01.66 to take second in the 1500-meter run. VanKeulen rounded out the top five with his time of 4:04.13.
In the 5000-meter run, Kipp Kinsley placed sixth overall with his time of 16:03.52.
Justin Carson ran the 400-meter hurdles in 55.70. Carson finished fourth in the event.
SDSU won the 4x100-meter relay with their time of 42.29. In the 4x400-meter relay, SDSU finished second (3:19.94).
Connor Berg finished in the top-ten in the high jump. Berg placed ninth with his height of 6’ 2.00”.
Jeremiah Ary won the long jump event with his distance of 22’ 7.00”. Ary also placed second in the triple jump. In the triple jump he recorded a distance of 45’ 5.00”.
Ryan Ackman finished in the top ten in the discus throw and the hammer throw. In the hammer throw, he recorded a mark of 147’ 9.00”. He placed fourth in the discus throw (168’ 11.00”).
The Jackrabbits will be back in action again next weekend at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Howard Wood Dakota Relays is the final tune-up before the conference meet.
