Lusignan places 19th at Minnesota
FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – The South Dakota State men’s cross country team finished 14th overall at the 2013 Griak Invitational. Trent Lusignan was top finisher for the Jackrabbits, as he took 19th place with his time of 24:47.8.
Lusignan’s time of 24:47.8 at the 2013 Griak is a personal best for him in an 8k race.
Anthony Bongard was the next Jackrabbit runner to cross the finish line as he ran a time of 25:16.0. Bongard placed 52nd overall. His time today is a new personal best for him at the Griak Invitational.
Thirteen seconds later (25:29.2), Joel Reichow finished the 8k race to take 70th overall. Today, Reichow improved on his 2012 Griak Invitational time of 26:31.2.
In 105th was Drew Kraft with his final time of 25:48.8. Andrew Thies clocked in (26:21.1) less than a minute after Kraft to finish 167th. Thies’ time of 26:21.1 is a new personal best for him at the Griak Invitational.
Brendan Sage was the top freshman finisher for the Jackrabbits as he took 118th with his final time of 25:54.2.
Kipp Kinsley and Christian Karels finished back-to-back in 194th and 195th, respectively. Kinsley ran a time of 26:44.9, while Karels clocked in at 26:46.1. Kinsley and Karels also set personal best times today at the Griak Invitational.

As a team, the Jackrabbits scored 343 points. No. 4 BYU won the race with 62 total points. The men’s 8k run had 246 runners from 24 teams.
The Jackrabbits are back home next weekend as they host the annual SDSU Classic on Oct. 4 at the Edgebrook Golf Course. The women will run at 6 p.m., and the men will run at 6:30 p.m.
