Jacks fall to No. 9 Nebraska, 36-6
South Dakota State (0-2, 0-0) fell to No. 9 Nebraska (2-0, 1-0) 36-6 Sunday afternoon in Frost Arena. Junior Cody Pack (157 lbs) scored the only points for the Jacks as he pinned John Svoboda at 4:47.
"Cody came out and dominated," head coach Chris Bono said. "He was aggresive from the get go and never let Svoboda in the match."
Following a first period takedown, pack used an escape, takedown and two-point nearfall early in the second period to take a 7-0 lead. Following another takedown and two-point nearfall, Pack recorded the fall at 4:47.
"Nebraska came in and brought the fight to us," Bono said. "They are a top-10 team for a reason. We need to get better. We will take away some positives from today and start building towards next weekend's battle with NDSU."
The Jacks will host the Bison on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. in the inaugural Battle of the Border Bell.
