Jacks' tennis stays perfect in Florida

Orlando, Fla. -- The South Dakota State men's and women's tennis teams both won a pair of matches Tuesday as the Jacks continue their spring break roadtrip.

The men defeated St. Ambrose, 7-0 and Robert Morris, 5-2, while the women recorded of a pair of 6-1 wins over Chicago State and Robert Morris.

"Our focus was exactly where we wanted it to be," head coach Michael Engdahl said. "Everyone took care of their court and we played smart tennis."

On the men's side, SDSU won all three double matchups, 8-0 against St. Ambrose. Individually, Lovro Curcija, Henrique Pereira, Gary Notkin, Lucas Pereira and Luis Duque all won 6-0, 6-0.

Lawley, Curcija, Notkin and Mateus Moreira all won individual matches against Roebrt Morris after SDSU won doubles.

Against Chicago State, the Jackrabbit women swept singles as Florencia Magni, Jenny Blackburne, Iasmin Rosa, Ffion Davies, Beatriz Souza and Tacy Haws-Lay all won singles.

Davies/Blackburne and Rosa/Haws-Law also picked up wins in doubles.

SDSU continued to roll against RMU, as it swept singles by tallies of 8-1, 8-2 and 8-1. Magni, Blackburne, Rosa, Souza and Haws-Lay also picked up individual wins.

SDSU continues play tomorrow as both squads take on Sienna.
