S-JAC construction reaches milestone
Construction on the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex at South Dakota State University recently reached a milestone as the final beam of the steel structure was installed.
Despite prolonged stretches of adverse weather, construction remains on schedule. Anticipated opening for the $30-plus million facility is near the start of the 2014-15 school year.
The Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex will serve as the home for the Jackrabbit men's and women's track and field teams, housing a 300-meter indoor track. In addition, the multipurpose facility will include 100 yards of synthetic turf, which will accommodate indoor practices for outdoor sports such as football, soccer, baseball, softball.
